Mechanical Lift Die Rollers

Mechanical die lifters/rollers are capable of lifting 4000 lbs. per rail by moving the handle manually. The lifting action is achieved by a combination of two means of mechanical advantage: Inclined plane and leveraged cam action.

The Model-706 die lifter/roller (illustrated below) is used with the rollers down. The bolster extensions are mounted in line with bolster T-slots of the same depth. The die is first placed on two 'rollerless' bolster extensions which have a 1.500 slot depth to allow insertion of a relaxed die roller.

The Model-706 die lifter/roller is then placed in the bolster extension under the die and elevated. The die is then pushed onto the press bolster supported by the traveling die lifter/roller. When the die has been properly placed the die lifter/roller is relaxed and pulled away from the die.

The Model-710 die lifter/roller (roller bearings up) is inserted into a bolster T-slot under the die and then elevated. The die is then rolled out of the press onto conventional bolster extensions. After die exchange the die lifters/rollers may be used on other presses.

Roller bearings are down for travel with the die.

Model 710 - Mechanical Die Lifter Rail

4000 lbs. of lifting capacity. Leverage provided by the handle varies with angle and is in the range of 80 to 40:1.

A 2000 lb. load is lifted by the application of about 35 lbs. of force at handle end. To lift the maximum load about 100 lbs. of force is required.

The die lifter rail fits in T or rectangular slots with 1.5" minimum slot depth.

Two widths are available. a 13/16" width requiring a minimum slot width of .840", and a 1" width requiring a minimum slot of 1.060".

Standard lengths are offered. (Rail length does not affect lifting capacity). Please select the desired length from the table below.
