"Mini-Latch"

The "Mini-Latch" KO Bar Connect/Disconnect System is designed to fit all small tonnage injection molding machines - even hard to fit machines.

"Mini-Latch" is hydraulically opened to allow KO Bars to disconnect. When the hydraulic pressure is released machined retainers inside "Mini-Latch" expand to secure the KO Bars.

The "Mini-Latch" system includes a hydraulic quick disconnect point, unique hydraulic manifolds to distribute hydraulic pressure to Probes, which in turn secure/release Receivers which are attached to KO Bars.

The following illustrations show various configurations. (Click on picture to enlarge.)

Five Probe System

This configuration shows center and four peripheral probes mounted on a KO plate (Cross). The system may also be mounted on a square or "butterfly" KO plate. Hydraulic pressure manifolds are mounted on the face of the KO plate. Steel tubing connects the manifolds. Hydraulic fluid connection point is at the rear of the KO plate.

The receivers are shown opposite the probes without the KO Bars being connected.

Center Probe Only

The Center Probe is shown with front mounted manifold. Hydraulic fluid flows from the manifold located to the left. In the rear view the hydraulic fluid connection point is fully visible.

Space permitting, the hydraulic hose may also be connected directly to the center manifold. This would simplify the installation.

Four Probes, Rear Mounted Manifolds

The rear of the KO plate shows how hydraulic fluid is connected to four probes. For two probe applications, two probes may be connected at the 9-3 o'clock positions or the 6-12 o'clock positions. High pressure flexible hose is used to connect the manifold.

In Plate Hydraulic Distribution

This configuration shows center and four peripheral probes flush mounted on a KO Plate (cross).

Hydraulic fluid paths are drilled inside the KO Plate and terminate at each Probe. Seals on the probes allow transfer of hydraulic fluid to the Probes.

Existing KO Plates may be retrofitted or new plates machined to OEM specifications.

Receivers

Hardened retainers in Probes engage a groove in the 1" OD Receivers for a secure mechanical lock.

Existing KO Bars are shortened and threaded to connect to the Receivers.
