Hydraulic Clamps

Most systems under 1000 Ton use clamps which are hydraulically actuated to achieve clamping force and then mechanically locked during production runs. We call these clamps Hydra-Mechanical. After setting mechanical locks the hydraulic pump is moved away to be used on other machines requiring mold exchange. To open the Hydra-Mechanical clamps the hydraulic pump is again connected.

The largest systems use clamps which incorporate hydraulic check valves and often automatic clamp advance and retract mechanisms.

Larger clamps may include sensors which provide location information and clamping status. Rollers are frequently used if clamps are fixed mounted and/or the clamps are used to provide mold support in side loading applications.
